Got one of my Cuan pieces accepted into the Courthouse Gallery & Studios Summer Open Exhibition in Ennistymon, Co. Clare. The exhibit opened on May 20th and runs to June 25th, I hope too get to see it next week.
So, here's my piece:
Cuan 2 100.5 height x 129.5cm width digitally manipulated image printed on fabric and intensively quilted
Inspired by a photograph that I took of the rocky coastline in Co. Kerry last year, this piece is a whole cloth quilt. I had my digital design printed onto fabric commercially and then intensively quilted it on my longarm machine. I'm working on a series of these pieces for a solo exhibition later this year.
I was drawn to the incredible greens of the vegetation on the stones, just magnificent. Spent hours sitting on the rocks, watching the birds and water, doesn't take much to make me happy! Thank you Nikki for sharing this amazing place with me, very grateful.
